James Ding is the General Partner and the Managing Director of the GSR Venture, LLP. and Mayfield China, LLP., an early stage venture fund focus on technology, media and telecom investment in China. James Ding co-founded AsiaInfo Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASIA) in 1993. He is now Chairman of AsiaInfo’s Board of Directors. Prior to that, James served as Chief Executive Officer and President of AsiaInfo from May 1999 until April 2003 and has served as a Board member of AsiaInfo since the company’s inception. He served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer from 1993 to 1999. James Ding is also the Chairman of Beijing United ITV Cultural Development Ltd., a pioneer company in China for the IPTV and broadband portal service.  James Ding graduated from Peking University in 1986. He earned his MS degree in information science from University of California, Los Angeles in 1990.  James is also a graduate from the Executive Program of Haas Business School at University of California, Berkeley.
